When she’s not counseling or teaching, Melissa enjoys bonding with her husband and their four children. She is intentional about being present for her family, as she is committed to pouring into the lives of others in counseling.

Hiawatha Clemons III is a Resident in Counseling in Virginia with more than 17 years of experience partnering with individuals, families, and veterans navigating life’s most challenging moments. His areas of focus include depression, anxiety, PTSD, men’s issues, military-related stress, trauma, anger management, family dynamics, and life transitions.
After an honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps, Hiawatha transformed his passion for service into a lifelong mission of helping others heal. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Old Dominion University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University.
Hiawatha believes that healing begins with honesty, safety, and connection. His therapeutic style is grounded in authenticity, deep empathy, and spiritual sensitivity, creating a space where clients can feel genuinely seen and supported.

Andreá Reed is a Licensed Resident in Counseling
Andrea Reed is a Resident in Counseling working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia. Known proudly as a “Double Hoo,” Andrea earned both her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Counselor Education from the University of Virginia.
With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, Andrea has devoted much of her career to serving as a School Counselor in local high schools, where she supported students through academic, social, and personal challenges. She has also served as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), providing in-home counseling for children and case management for adults, work that expanded her ability to meet the needs of diverse populations.
Andrea believes that a strong rapport is the foundation of effective counseling. She approaches each client with openness, empathy, and non-judgment, making sure every person feels heard and valued. Her versatility allows her to work with a wide range of clients, including adolescents, teens, young adults, couples, and families. She meets clients where they are and partners with them to move toward peace, healing, and wholeness.

Her approach to therapy is eclectic, drawing from Client-Centered Theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing to create individualized treatment plans.
Outside of counseling, Andrea enjoys spending quality time with her three daughters, Lauren, Kennedy, and Jordyn, as well as her siblings. She recharges by watching movies, reading, and nurturing her garden.

Alyssa Maxie is a Licensed Resident in Counseling actively working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). With over ten years of experience in the mental health field, she brings both clinical skill and genuine compassion to the work she does every day.
Alyssa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ferrum College and a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Liberty University Online. Her clinical background includes work in Intensive In-Home Counseling, where she supported at-risk children, teens, and families facing complex emotional and behavioral challenges. She also has experience providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and behavior modification techniques to children on the autism spectrum.
